The Great Book of Protection
(Catubhāṇavārapāli)

This book contains Parittas and Suttas that are recited during MV’s full-moon and new-moon services, Chinese New Year, Vesak Day, Sanghamitta Day, and Saturdays.

It is also recited to invoke blessings for the sick and those hospitalized. The Aṅgulimala Paritta recitation
on the first Saturday of each month is to invoke blessings and protection for expectant mothers and their baby.

Maranasati
(with English translation)

The Buddha said “A virtuous one should practise the following four-fold protective meditations namely, reflection on the Buddha, loving-kindness, unsatisfactoriness and on death”.

These stanzas are chanted during funeral service as a way to give spiritual and emotional supports to the family of the deceased.

Maranasati / 死随念
(with Chinese translation)

佛说:“贤者应修此四护卫禅 — 佛随念、慈心观、不净观与死随念。”

丧礼本身的意义何在? 它是佛教徒给予往生者家属精神上的支柱。
