Kathina Celebration
Following the three-month Vassana period, we will be holding a Kathina ceremony where members and devotees offer the Kathina Robe and other gifts to the Maha Sangha.
All robes have been reserved. We deeply appreciate your generous support and kind donations for this Kathina celebration.
May the blessings of the Triple Gem always be with you and your family.

Respecting All Faiths: Standing Against Division in Singapore
We unreservedly condemn the unacceptable and reprehensible action by an individual for sending a parcel containing a piece of pork (haram to Islam) to the Al-Istiqamah mosque in Serangoon. Such an action creates ill-will towards the Muslim community of Singapore.
Buddhism encourages tolerance and respect towards all religions. In the Mettā sutta, we are advised: “Not to deceive another, nor despise any person whatsoever in any place. Even in anger or ill-will, one should not wish harm to another.”
Let us live in peace and harmony, valuing each other’s rights to practise their religions without fear, and be of service to one another.

Mangala Vihara’s Message on Religion and Politics
At Mangala Vihara, we are devoted to guiding people in spiritual growth, loving kindness and compassion. We believe that religion should inspire goodness in our daily life, and not to be used in politics.
Mixing religion with politics can harm the peace and unity that we cherish so much in Singapore. Our secular system ensures fairness for all, no matter what their race or beliefs. Elections and political decisions should be left to Singaporeans to decide, free from outside or religious influences.
Let’s all work together to protect the harmony and inclusiveness that makes Singapore special. Lastly, and more importantly, may all beings be well and happy.
